Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran was born on the 10th of March 1949. She is an American investor and speaker as well as consultant. The Corcoran Group was a New York City real estate brokerage that she founded. NRT purchased it for $66million in 2001. Corcoran eventually left the business. Corcoran was one of ABC's first Shark investors was a featured guest of each episode of Shark Tank. Corcoran had signed 53 contracts as of February of 2020. Her largest deal was her investment of $350,000 into Coverplay for 40%. Corcoran was the second of a family of 10 kids born to a working class Irish-Catholic couple located in Edgewater, New Jersey. Florence was her mother. She was a household worker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. her father, was a multi-talented employee throughout Corcoran's early years. Her family often relied on free food deliveries from a local grocer. Corcoran remembers her father, one who would drink excessively, and behaved towards her mother disrespectfully and condescendingly, particularly after he'd consumed several drinks. Corcoran had difficulty at school and was later told that she was dyslexic. Corcoran was a student at a Catholic elementary school in her neighborhood and started high school in St. Cecilia High School, Englewood. Corcoran completed her studies at Leonia High School with a degree in English after having failed several classes during her first year.
